About Marjolein Zweekhorst
Marjolein Zweekhorst is professor Innovation and Education in the health and life sciences at the Athena Institute, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She wrote her PhD thesis on institutionalisation of an interactive approach to technological innovation (defence 2004). Her current research is focused on 1) methodology development for inter- and transdisciplinary research and 2) development of educational approaches and innovations aiming to prepare students for inter- and transdisciplinary research.
Moreover, she leads the Broader Mind Community Service Learning (CSL) Team of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, which aims to involve CSL within all programs of the VU. In 2022 with this team they won the European Triple Engagement Award for one of the CSL strategies developed with this team. Currently, she is also involved various EU projects focussing on integration of CSL in education.
About Hossam Haggag
Hossam is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of expertise in management, leadership development, and talent acquisition within the hospitality industry. In 2019, Hossam transitioned into academia, contributing his rich industry insights to NHL Stenden. Since 2022, he has been a valuable addition to Hotelschool The Hague, where he leads the selection committee and spearheads strategic partnerships with the hospitality industry. Hossam’s guiding philosophy is encapsulated in Zig Ziglar’s words: ‘You do not have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.’ This ethos reflects his belief in the transformative power of taking the first step toward greatness.
